I made a financial counter offer to my husband which my attorney said he would send to his attorney, but his attorney said it was not received. I have been waiting for 10 days for my attorney to return my phone call asking what is going on.  My ex says he was never notified that I filed for divorce.

Answer:

I would first try to contact your divorce lawyer again and ask his assistant, if he has one, whether or not he received your message and specifically request that the phone call be returned within 48 hours. Also ask when your settlement proposal will be conveyed to your husband’s divorce lawyer. If you receive no response or an unsatisfactory response, consider obtaining new counsel.
